Crime Camera Initiatives

Women Standing Up (WSU) Crime Camera Initiative’s overall mission is to partner with local businesses, churches and communities in the Greater New Orleans area to collectively help curtail crime that's plaguing our city.

In partnership with our various Law Enforcement agencies we've begun the process of identifying "crime hot spots" to enhance public safety and citizen awareness. All crime cameras installed by WSU are managed by ProjectNOLA, the largest HD city-wide networked crime camera system in America. ProjectNOLA’s Incident Monitoring Center receives video from 1400 cameras placed on New Orleans homes and businesses throughout the City of New Orleans. ProjectNOLA routinely provides real-time supplemental information and video footage to law enforcement agencies and has assisted in over 500 criminal investigations, including 50 homicides. ProjectNOLA may be the most successful crime camera system in the United States given the large number of major investigations that ProjectNOLA has helped closed via arrests, warrants and convictions.

We want to keep our city safe, our communities safe and so we ask, join us and complete a Crime Camera form for the installation and maintenance of a camera for your community.
Thank you for partnering with WSU in keeping our community safe and working towards a higher quality of life in the Greater New Orleans area.
Crime camera install begins in Algiers apartment community
